What is it like to grow up in England?

Kinderen in een klaslokaal

What do you need to grow up happy and healthy? English children share their thoughts in this video.

Words:

  • leisure centre is a place where everyone can do activities such as sports, art classes, language courses etc.
  • Something is accessible when everyone can use it, even if a person is, for example, blind or in a wheelchair.
  • When something is not appropriate, it means it isn’t safe, normal or accepted.
  • Treating people with dignity is to treat them wel and respect who they are.
  • A place can have facilities, like a library or a gym, that people can use. When a place doesn’t have many facilities, people don’t have the chance to do activities.
  • Fossil fuels are fuels that are used for energy, but that are bad for the environment. Examples are oil and gas.
